Average rainfall here is about 2000mm per year but only around 250mm from June to October, so it’s only a question of storage.
If you have a garden or revegetation area that requires watering, you will have significantly higher usage during the dry season. If possible, utilise drippers from your grey water system for the garden.
Leaves will lead to impurities in you water – installing leaf guards in your guttering and leaf catchers at the end of drains will reduce cleaning and the need to clear unnecessary vegetation.
- Keep your roof clean, and light coloured roofs grow less mould.
